Here you will find the answers to questions from our friends and customers.
You will find a complete explanation under the Solunar Articles section of the menu to your left.
Yes! Solunar tables really work! Check out our Testimonials page to learn how others have enjoyed them.
Locate the monthly table that corresponds to your vacation month. Plan your trip to include the days where either a Full or New moon is indicated. Then hope it doesn't rain all that week.
Reflective particles in the earths upper atmosphere bounce back other colors of the spectrum, allowing only the blue to pass through.
Click the 'Place Order' option in the menu to the left.
Your tables will be sent as an email attachment to the email address you used when you made your purchase.
Nothing. The times would be precisely the same for the same location. We charge differently based on the intended use of our products.
We try to fill all orders within two business days of the day the order was placed. If you haven't received your order within two business days, check your spam folder first and then use our Contact Us page to let me know you haven't received them.
Most likely you have a spam folder or bulk mail folder in your email. Some spam filters are too aggressive and will block or quarantine the email we sent you with your order. Check there first, then use our Contact Us page to arrange for a re-send of your order.
Absolutely! Some customers prefer to buy 2-3 years at a time. The only risk is if the rules governing Daylight Savings Time change during the time period you purchase.
We will re-calculate your tables one time at no-charge. Use our Contact Us page to let us know how we should adjust the time zone and your adjusted tables will arrive within two business days.
No! Most people incorrectly refer to Solunar times as the Moonup or Moondown times. This is not correct as the suns position in relation to the moon must also be considered.
This happens when the calculated time is at precisely midnight or noon. The computer simply can't tell whether it's AM or PM but you will note that there will be a solunar period starting very near to midnight or noon on the following day. What's confusing is the progression of times can go from 11:00 + in the AM column to 12:00 + in the PM column the next day.
We don't know - but we suspect it is because the times shown are 'rounded' to the nearest 10 minutes and because you are asked to make additional adjustments depending upon how far away you are from a base point. Thus it is a 'safety net'.
Our tables are accurate to the nearest one minute for a precise location determined by the appropriate longitude and latitude. These times are adjusted to compensate for Daylight Savings Time when it is in effect plus the appropriate Time Zone. Other tables require that you add one hour for DST plus or minus additional minutes (ranging from 0 to 30).
The times will change 1 minute for each 18 miles E (-) or W (+) of the location. The further you are from the equator, the less distance you have to travel to move 0.25 degrees of longitude (equal to 1 minute of a solar day). So...the adjustment will vary, becoming smaller as you head further north. The difference is minor except when considered on a continental scale.
Because the tables are adjusted for the appropriate time zones.
No, but the distance North or South does vary the sunrise-set and moonrise-set times.
These are the times the moon is directly overhead or directly underfoot for the given location. Many hunters feel that the lunar influences are greatest at these times.
No. Tides are best considered as a catalyzing agent rather than an end result. Tide has a direct effect on only two things. It controls water depth and the baitfish flow over the bottom. Fish activity cycles are brought on by the action of the sun and moon working together on the earth's surface. The major difference in tide reaction is general while the major/minor reaction is specific and must be recalculated when your fishing location changes.
Yes! We can calculate any location on the entire planet. Time zones gets confusing because they are referenced as a +/-GMT, but with your help that problem is easily solved.
