| The first piece of equipment that any offshore boater should acquire is a good VHF radio and antenna set up. In an emergency this is your lifeline to communicate with rescue personnel. More lives have been saved by VHF radios than with any other piece of electronic safety gear. Leaving shore without a working VHF radio is asking for trouble. |
